AP Lang - AP English EssayThe aim of the Electoral College Synthesis Essay is to help students learn how a presidential election works and how an individual can be elected. Students will learn about the Electoral College process and what makes a candidate electable. The Essay will also help students determine if they feel a candidate will do well in the Electoral College and if the Electoral College process would affect their vote.In this final assignment, students will use information from the syllabus to complete AP Lang's Election Synthesis Paper. Students will read the syllabus section in the first section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis and write a persuasive argument in support of a particular issue. Students should use the information provided in the syllabus to outline their arguments and deliver their points in a clear, concise manner.In the first section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'The Electoral College Synthesis.' Students should then write a persuasive essay on how each candidate fares in the Electoral College. They should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.In the second section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'How to Choose Your Candidate for President,' and then write a persuasive essay on how the candidate in the race that they pick will do well in the Electoral College. Students should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.In the third section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'What Can I Know About a Candidate?' and then write a persuasive essay on what they know about the candidate in the race that they choose. Students should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.In the fourth section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'How to Have a Good Election,' and then write a persuasive essay on how their candidate can have a good election. Stud ents should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.In the fifth section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'Public Opinion Polls,' and then write a persuasive essay on why public opinion polls are useful. Students should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.In the final section of AP Lang's Election Synthesis, students will read the topic of the week, 'Art of the Argument,' and then write a persuasive essay on what they know about the candidate in the race that they choose. Students should then submit the essay to AP Lang for assessment.
